Work in EnglishGabriël van den Brink (1950) was educated as a philosopher but he switched to historical research. His main subject is the process of modernization. After finishing his dissertation in 1995 he focussed on problems of Dutch society. He published more than 45 books related to different aspects of Dutch social life. In 2006 he was appointed as a full professor in Social Administration at the University of Tilburg. In addition to this function, he was lecturer in Ethics and Authority at the Dutch Police Academy. In 2009 he started as the president of the Tilburg School for Politics and Public Administration. After his retirement in Tilburg he switched to Centrum Ethos at the Free University (Amsterdam) in order to teach philosophy. His work in English is listed below.
